Deep In the Forest ry

Deep In the Forest ry is estabilished in 2013 and its main purpose is to promote and facilitate Discgolf in Kuopio region. Club is open to all, female and male, young and old discgolfers alike. Currently Club has over 200 members. Club also organizes competitions such as Kuopio AM (C-tier), Puijo Open (C-tier) and Prodigy Disc Pro Tour Kuopio event (2020, 2021) and of course, Weekelies.

Courses

Deep In the Forest maintains three courses in Kuopio. Puijo DiscGolf, Huuhanmetsä DiscGolfPark and Peikkometsä Discgolf course. There are other courses in Kuopio and its surroundings, such as Atrain DiscGolfPark, Tarinalaakso (Old and New), Juankoski Discgolf course, Tahkovuori DiscGolfPark, Vuorela & Kunnonpaikka frisbeegolf courses but other parties are involved maintaining those.

One of the finest courses Finland can offer: According to UDISC Puijo DiscGolf has highest user rating in Finland and it also holds 27th place in UDISC world wide course rankings (2023). Puijo DG is located at top of the Puijo Hill. Its 18 holes are spread on an old 9-hole ball golf course and course extends partially to Antikkala ski piste. Course has open fields, high elevation, and some tight forest ways. For top players this course offers plenty amount of speed control since many of the targets are positioned on a slope or on the edge of a slope. OBs surround many targets as well. Course is open from June to October. Course is Free to Play.

Huuhanmetsä DiscGolfPark

"Ewok Forest", a course where one will learn how to aim. Huuhanmetsä is mainly a forest course with some elevation, and couple holes on open field as well. Huuhanmetsä has different layouts (in metrix): A-layout is full 24-hole trip thru forests and couple holes in a field. B-layout is 16 holes (1-10, 19-24). Course can also be played optionally with 21-hole layout (1-15,19-24). Course also has 4-hole layout for adjacent school gym hours. Course is open whole year, even in winter, but some holes (usually 16-18) might be unplayable due large amounts snow. Course is Free to Play.

Peikkometsä Frisbeegolf course

14-hole course in Petonen residential area. Peikkometsä is the first course ever in Kuopio. Course was originally designed as 18 hole, but due increased other outdoor activities in the area, course was partially redesigned in 2021. First 5 holes are new ones, forest holes. Holes  6-14 are more like park course with very little elevation.

Lost & Found Discs

Puijo DG and Huuhanmetsä DGP have a Lost & Found Box (Puijo has booth) for lost discs. Found discs are listed frequently to Lost Discs list (which can be searched by initial digits of a phone number). When disc is found an SMS message is sent  to phone number (if such exists) on a disc. Found discs are stored 1 month from the date of "listing", unless otherwise requested by the disc owner
